Durarara 24.
So Durarara has finally ended, it has been a good 24 weeks. I’m sure next Thursday will be a drag since I won’t have the excitement waiting for me when I get home from work. Ah well, I suppose I could just try and fangirl over Working!! for the next few weeks.
For the final episode of this season, though all the questions asked were not actually answered, reminds me of playing the Kingdom Hearts series. Every game you play, has one question is answered and 5 more are asked. Anyways back to Durarara. For the final episode of the series, I was pretty satisfied, it left an opening for another series, whilst following the novel.
The episode itself had me in stitches. All the way from Kadota’s awesome plotting and showing up at the most appropriate moments, to Shizuo’s quirks to Izaya totally getting owned.
I honestly did not expect Kadota to show up and own the Blue Squares (whom have disguised themselves as Yellow Scarves). I’m surprised Horoda can drive, seriously he’s like 30-odd and he tries to take over a bunch of asbo kids. Seriously, get a fucking job, actually get a life. But yeah, Shizuo playing baseball with a signpost and the car (that Horoda drives) being the ball. I’m amazed he hasn’t actually killed anyone with his antics yet. Celty, once again was just so-fucking-adorable in this episode and Shinra’s expressions were the best. Especially when Celty admitted she was seducing him.
Izaya vs Anri was pretty epic. We got to see some of his parkour skills + fighting skills, something surprisingly enough we have not seen much throughout these 24 episode. Him getting owned by Simon totally made the episode for me, even more so, Namie’s reaction to his black eye. I thought for a moment that Brain Base cut that part out of the anime, but I was happy that they didn’t. Simon, despite being a main character hasn’t really shown much of his awesome skills.
And to top it off. Saki actually showed some emotion. I totally adore MasaomixSaki, and I was pretty chuffed with the scenes shown between them. Also the ending in the chatroom was pretty satisfying, Masaomi’s 
was pretty sweet as well.
Anyways, 24 episodes of pure awesomeness. Nothing has been answered, a lot of openings, so I’m hoping for another season. And, all the decent shit happens in the later volumes of the Novel as well. I hope to see the Twins (Izaya’s younger sisters), Aoba and Chikage. Also hoping for the Light Novels and manga to be licensed and translated into English, I can only dream right (:
